It hurts my pride to write this, but I needed back taxes help. I needed help to stop wage garnishment, to stop IRS levy, and simply my Irs tax debt. What I needed for back taxes help, was a nice tax debt settlement.
See, the IRS was garnishing my wages, which means that when an employer is required to withhold the earnings of an indebted individual for the payment of a debt in accordance with a specific court order or some other legal or equitable procedure, like IRS or state tax collection. These garnishments are taken as part of the payroll process. I had no money in my savings, and I needed that money to live.
When I found a lawyer who could get me my back taxes help, he explained to me why the court decided to garnish my wages. Apparently, I had a federal tax lien (which I knew already but did not know what that meant). A federal tax lien, you see, is the legal claim of the government against your property when you neglect or fail to pay a tax debt.
However, he could get me some help with an OIC, or an Offer in Compromise. I just needed to meet one out of three conditions before I qualified. There had to be doubt as to liability, doubt as to collectibility, or effective tax administration. There was a whole ton of doubt as to collectibility, so the lawyer was going to get me my back taxes help, thankfully.
Now that all is said and done, all I have to say is that I curse the day the nation enacted its first income tax law (which was in 1862 in order to support the Civil War effort). I am just glad to have gotten the back taxes help I needed, when I needed it. Does anyone else have a similar story or an experience that they would like to share?
